01 / FREE TO GRAZE
Our Gir cows graze freely in the forest landscape around SwanandJi. Their care is where every batch begins.
Out in the green.
02 / MILKED BY HAND
The cows are milked by hand. Fresh Gir cow milk is the beginning of our traditional, cultured-curd process.
Care, carried forward.
03 / TIME TO CULTURE
The milk is heated, cooled and set with a starter culture. Given time, it becomes the curd we use for bilona churning.
Patience is an ingredient.
04 / THE BILONA RHYTHM
The cultured curd is churned by hand with a wooden bilona. Slowly, butter separates from the buttermilk. This cultured butter is what we cook into ghee.
By hand. By heart.
05 / SLOW HEAT
The butter is gently heated in small batches. Moisture cooks away, the milk solids separate, and the ghee develops its fuller aroma and flavour.
Goodness, unhurried.
04 / WORTH THE WAIT
Gently heated butter becomes
golden, aromatic, grainy ghee.
A slow story, ready for your table.
A little ghee.
A lot of love.
06 / THE GOODNESS IN EVERY JAR

A SPOONFUL TELLS YOU

A fuller aroma. A beautifully grainy texture. A flavour that belongs on hot rotis, steaming dal, and the recipes you learned at home.
Natural texture varies with the season and room temperature. That’s part of a jar made from milk fat.
WHY WE MAKE LESS
The cows come first.
Our desi cows give just a few litres of milk a day. We respect that rhythm, with no hormonal injections to increase milk yield.
Lower yields, hands-on care, and small-batch churning all ask for more time. That is what goes into the price of our ghee.
Get to know our gaushalaTHE PEOPLE & THE PURPOSE
After more than 30 years in construction, Shree Nandlalji Gahane chose to build a different kind of home. A sanctuary for cows, and a life closer to the land.
Together with Smt. Swati Gahane, he founded SwanandJi around a simple purpose: care for the cows, make honest food, and bring people closer to a way of living they can trust.

It refers to the type of beta-casein protein in the Gir cow milk we start with. Ghee is primarily milk fat; we use the term to describe its source, not as a promise about digestion.
